Busy Summer Days

Tuesday, August 18th, 2009

busy times at the warehousePhew!!!! 100 days after announcing our acquisition by Larson Juhl and we are finally starting to feel comfortable in our new facility. Even though the move was short in distance it was long in complexity. Add to that two weeks of scorching heat and the usual frustrations in not being able to find what used to be in the obvious place and you can understand why we are so excited just to be settled and operating at 100% again. We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding throughout it all. The fact that the business performed at record levels during the move says a tremendous amount about our customers and we thank you again for your patience and consistent feedback and support.

We are spending the month of August overhauling and refining our wood frame selection. We have found that 20% of the wood frames we offer make up for over 80% of the sales, so we are focusing on these most popular frames and are adding some new options that will round out the collection. Along with fine tuning our wood offerings we are also changing the wood pricing in the near future so that volume customers can benefit with deeper discounts.

The moulding we have available changes daily as we cut and sell the remainder of the less-often purchased mouldings. In September, you’ll find new wood mouldings on the website as well as a new pricing structure. Please be on the lookout for this and if you have any concerns, comments, or questions we will be happy to work with you.

Product Focus: Light Green Gold Square Wood Frame

Friday, November 21st, 2008

Our Light Green Gold Square frame may look like an ordinary brown frame on our website and in our catalog, but if you take a closer look you’ll see why it’s a customer favorite and why we often recommend it.

The face of the moulding has mossy green flecks, a walnuty-gold surface and lots of fine texture lines. It has a slightly gilded and Asian look.

This is a great frame for artwork with an organic and earthy quality. We probably wouldn’t recommend it for use with blues and other cool tones, but if your artwork showcases browns, warm greens and golden colors – like what you’d see on your Thanksgiving table – it’ll be the perfect complement.

The face of the moulding is 1 3/8” wide, the outside black edge is 3/4” high and the rabbet space is 1/2”. This Omega moulding always cuts sharply and the corners join nicely too.  And, as Category B frame it’s a good value for good quality.
