We’re pleased to tell you, our valued customers, that Documounts has upgraded our call center and online payment processing to become compliant with the Payment Card Industry Security Standards.
In order to do this we had to make some changes to the way your credit card information will be processed. These changes will ensure an even more secure payment processing solution. When you purchase products from Documounts, your account information will be separated and not retained so that supplier details flow through us, while sensitive account information runs through the Payflow secure servers.
The only way your non-website ordering process will differ is that now we will no longer have your credit card information history when you call or email in an order.
The only way your online ordering process will differ is that once you are ready to enter your credit card information a new window will open that is on the Paypal Payflow secure site.
These changes may be a little bit of a nuisance for you in the moment, but we are sure they will keep you and your sensitive information more secure.
More information: In 2004, major credit card companies, recognizing the need to secure sensitive card holder information in the wake of increasing electronic commerce, created the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). PCI DSS is determined by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council, which is governed jointly by the major payment card issuing companies, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and JCB International.
Since the government has not instituted laws with regards to payment card security standards, the PCI DSS compliance program is voluntary for merchants.
Now that Documounts is fully PCI compliant, you can rest easy knowing that your sensitive account information is safeguarded by one of the leaders in online payment processing.
