A Popular Frame is Improved

Thursday, April 28th, 2011

There has been a slight change to some of our wood frames and we wanted to let you know about it.

The series of  small grained frames that we carry has been improved. The grain in the veneer used lay horizontal across the frame, but now runs lengthwise with the moulding. This will result in a stronger frame and it looks great, too!

The frames that have changed in this way are pictured below. They are in order from left to right:

Olive Gray DM126, Mahogany DM121, Golden Walnut DM122 & Dark Walnut DM139.

Here’s a new installation in the What You’ll Need Series.  We’ve created a page that shows you everything you need to frame your art in a metal frame from Documounts.

There are links to help you with each step and you can print it up to take it into the studio with you.

We hope you find it useful.  Take me to What You’ll Need for Framing Artwork in a Metal Frame.

What’s on our Walls – Part II + a Chance to Help Japan’s Pets

Wednesday, April 6th, 2011

This is our second entry showing you what we have on our walls here at the Documounts office. You can find the first entry here.

When we began decorating the new space last year we knew we wanted to use our customer’s art throughout the building. When we saw  Brandis L.  Sarich’s charming and lively dog art, it seemed a good choice for a lunch room occupied by charming and lively people – and most of them dog lovers, as well.

The 9 opening mat was cut using the extra thick 8ply Artique mat in Oyster.

It’s a welcome sight in the break room. Some team members have enjoyed assigning each other’s personalities to the dogs.

Right now, Brandis Sarich is working to raise money for World Vets Japan Relief Fund, which is providing medicine, surgical and other supplies to volunteer veterinarians in Japan.  She has created a set of dog cards including Bo, the White House’s First Dog.  All proceeds go to the World Vets Japan Relief.  Find out more about this lovely and heartfelt project on Brandis’ website.
