Product Review on Paper Trimming Knife

Monday, February 8th, 2010

Our resident picture framer Judy tested another of our new supplies and was surprised by how much she liked it.  See her thoughts below.

Paper Back Trimming Knife: This tool is used for trimming paper dust covers on wood frames. The outer plastic edge “rides” along the outside of the frame and functions as a guide for the blade.  The blade sits on top of the dust cover, at a consistent 1/16” in from the frame edge.

Wow, what a great tool, I love it!  Just apply some gentle inward pressure as you pull the blade along the length of the frame.  It’s a much safer way to trim dust covers – no cut fingers, no slipped blades, no potential damage to the frame.  It helped me to create a clean and professional looking dust cover.

Product Review on new Low Lint Wipers

Monday, February 1st, 2010

Our resident picture framer Judy tested one of our new supplies and endorses it with a hearty thumbs up.  See her thoughts below.

Kimwipes Low Lint Wipers. These disposable cloths can be used for cleaning acrylic or glass and for wiping frames.

I found them to be sturdier than a bathroom tissue but less dense than a paper towel.  They come 90 wipes to a box and the box dispenses cloths just like a Kleenex box – very handy.

Each cloth measures about 14×16” so it can be folded over several times to get a fresh and clean surface.  I used one cloth while assembling several framed art projects.  It didn’t tear or get over-wet, nor did it scrunch up like a paper towel would.  And best of all – NO LINT!  This feature alone saves lot of time.

We have recently added a number of new supplies to our inventory.  To see them all please visit this link.
